Design and Technology
By the end of Key Stage Two, we want children at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Primary School to have experienced a broad and balanced Design and Technology curriculum, inspired by real life context and experiences from the wider world, such as engineering, designers, chefs and architects, this will enable them to create a range of structures, mechanisms, electrical systems and food products with real life purpose. Children will show a good level of competence and a deep understanding of the design process and will be able to use and apply these skills with confidence and understanding. The teaching of D&T, will follow the design, make and evaluate cycle. Each stage should be based around technical knowledge and rooted in real life. Technical knowledge and vocabulary will be taught to the highest standards and a clear progression will be evident across all key stages in children’s planning, executing and evaluating skills in all projects.
